Please note that our estimates are only valid for 30 days so if you are not planning on ordering soon, you may need to email us again when you are ready to place your order.

By paying a deposit to Dragons and Unicorns, you agree to the following terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them. The receipt of any deposit, by Dragons and Unicorns is considered acceptance of these terms in lieu of a signed copy.

Items will not be dispatched until they are completely paid for and funds have cleared - Sorry, but there are absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy.
Dragons and Unicorns reserves the right, at any time, to modify, alter, or update these Terms of Use, and you agree to be bound by such modifications, alterations, or updates.

We accept no responsibility for parcels sent to PO Boxes or an address other than the home address. Parcels are always sent "signed for delivery".
We reserve the right to cancel, suspend or delay delivery of an order without being liable for any loss or damage if the supply of the goods is prevented or delayed by circumstances beyond our control

COMMUNICATION
Dragons & Unicorns agree to be prompt with replies, and to answer any questions or concerns with courtesy. You, as the Client agree to communicate any questions or concerns in a timely manner throughout the design and construction process.
  
GUARANTEE OF QUALITY
We guarantee the workmanship to be of professional quality and free of defects. The Client agrees to inspect the garment immediately upon arrival and return within one week to resolve any issues of defects. The costume should be able to withstand normal wear. To be more specific, if any stitching comes loose or a seam comes apart because of weak or inferior threads, we will repair the seam at no charge to you.

GUARANTEE OF FIT
You must provide us with correct measurements. If the measurements you provide are incorrect we cannot be responsible. Clients must contact us within 3 days of receipt for arrangements for alterations to be made. Items may be sent back and we will alter as necessary for an agreed additional charge and postage. Unfortunately we cannot offer free alterations to those who have dieted and/or lost weight after receipt of the costume. We can only make clothing to the measurements you supply, and we guarantee the garment to fit based on those measurements. Further weight loss will obviously result in a too-big costume, and in situations like that, alterations are not covered.

DEPOSIT
A NON-refundable deposit, of 50% of the total agreed cost is due before we will begin work on your project. The Client agrees to pay this fee before work will begin. Deposits can be made by postal order, personal cheque or Paypal payments.
Our address will be given to clients by e-mail or telephone for payment by cheque or Postal Order.
If paying by cheque, please allow 10 days (including weekends) for the cheque to clear the bank before work can begin. This deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. Should you decided to cancel the order, the deposit will be forfeited.

CANCELLATIONS
We can stop work on the project, at the Client’s request. The Client forfeits any payments or deposits made, but are not obligated to pay the remaining fees. The project and materials become the property of Dragons and Unicorns.

DELIVERY TIME
We agree to post your fully paid for finished costume on or before the requested delivery date {except in the case of cancellation). The Client agrees to request delivery a minimum of 2 weeks before the garment is actually needed. If you do not specify a delivery date, please allow at least 6 weeks for delivery.

SHORT NOTICE FEE
We cannot guarantee to accept urgent orders, even with the additional fee, so please contact us first to avoid disappointment. If for any reason you need a costume at short notice (4 weeks or less) an additional 25% of the total cost may be added, plus any extra postage fees for express delivery. You agree to pay this fee for any short notice orders.

DESIGN CHANGES
Any request for changes must be made firstly by e-mail or telephone and then in writing. We cannot guarantee to incorporate design changes once an order has been agreed, the 50% deposit has been received and work has commenced on a costume. If such changes are agreed they will incur additional design and labour fees of no less than £25, plus any additional costs for added fabric or materials. Such changes may include, but are not limited to, design alterations, fabric choice changes, trim choice changes. Once changes are accepted by both Dragons and Unicorns and you, this must be confirmed in writing and accompanied by the agreed fee.

GETTING STARTED
Once we receive your deposit and it has cleared our bank, these Terms and Conditions take effect. We will order the fabric almost immediately, to secure the fabrics at the cost agreed upon in the estimate. We agree to give progress updates on the project via email or telephone when sewing begins, at the half-way stage and when the costume is ready to post. Photos may be taken of the costume when completed. All such photos and designs remain the property of Dragons and Unicorns and copyrights are kept and enforced.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Your costume will be cleaned and pressed before posting. Because of the nature of packing and shipping, the garment may need to be steamed or pressed on receipt. Care instructions as far as possible will be included with the costume when sent to you. Once the item is no longer in our possession, we are not liable for it's care. If no care instructions are provided, you must assume that the costume is dry clean only. All washable fabrics, including linen and cotton, will be pre washed to prevent shrinking before costume is constructed.

NOTES OF CAUTION
All designs are going to look different in the different sizes that they may be made in. Many costumes made in larger sizes may become distorted from the original design. Please keep this in mind when ordering.

DISCLAIMER
Please note that any materials used for our products are not covered by the European kite-mark for safety. Dragons and Unicorns cannot accept liability for any injury caused as a result of wearing any garment, outfit or accessory purchased from us. You are responsible for your own actions and agree to hold Dragons and Unicorns blameless.
We do not treat any of the fabrics we use and so cannot guarantee any of our products as being flame-proof, or accept any liability to the purchaser, wearer, or to any third party, in the unlikely event that they should catch fire whilst being worn, transported or stored.
Sometimes boning will come free and give you a jab. Sometimes you'll run up a mucky hill and trip over your skirts. Remember, you are wearing this stuff at your own risk. We can't be held responsible for any injuries resulting from wearing costumes or accessories we have made for you

MORE THAN ONE E-MAIL ADDRESS
To avoid potentially disastrous outcomes and miscommunication problems please do not email us from multiple email addresses. When people do this, we have found that they usually only check one of their email accounts on a regular basis, and when they ignore the other mailbox, the result is lots of missed or ignored emails. If there are problems and we contact you at the ignored address, you may not find out about them until it is too late.

PERIOD OF NO RESPONSE
If you place an order and we continuously email you with no response week after week, but your email address appears to be valid, Dragons & Unicorns will hold your order for up to one year as a valid order. After one year, we will consider your order "abandoned" and you will forfeit all payments you have made and your order will be cancelled.

POSTAGE AND PACKING
We post most packages Special Delivery with Royal Mail, with delivery confirmation. We charge postage and packing, based on the amount spent.
We are not responsible for damages after the Client receives the item and are under no obligation to make repairs once the item has left our possession. If you find a flaw in the craftsmanship, you must contact us within three days of receipt of the item to report the flaw. After we approve the return, you must mail the item back within one week of contacting us. Once we receive it back, we will either repair the item, or make you a new one. You must pay postage and packing back to us and you must insure the item. We absolutely will not issue refunds for items that are lost in the mail when being returned to us. For a few extra pounds, it's worth it to buy peace of mind and have the item insured.

The reason for this policy is because many people who order costumes plan to wear them for one special event. Custom order items are not costume rentals and for that reason, we have been forced to adhere to this policy very strictly. Once you buy it, it's yours forever and we will not accept it back, except to repair it or to exchange it for a new one. We do not offer refunds for custom - made garments

COLOUR MATCHING
We can NOT guarantee specific colour matches. What this means is: If you need us to make your costume in a very specific colour, for example, to match a pair of shoes you already own, we can't do this. If you require a custom colour, we recommend that you order a white garment and take it to a professional dying company who offers precise dye-matching.
